I just got off a long business development planning call with an advertising agency in Canada. We spent a good deal of time discussing the value of building and running an advertising agency email newsletter. I have written about email newsletters before but just built a set of statistics that supports my email advice that your agency should think hard about getting that newsletter out there (if you have a newsletter, good for you), Bottom line = email marketing should be a key element of your business development program.

Some quickie thoughts…
- Build your B2B most wonderful prospect email list. Do it. You know how to. Right? This takes some work.
- Use the right email program for you. I use MailChimp. I am about 80% happy.
- Use frequency. This is up to you but no less than once a month.
- Make sure your emails are insightful and well designed. Please make me want to read them.
- A call to action might be a sweet idea to make these missives active participants in your lead gen cycle.
- KISS. Yes, keep it simple stupid. My agency’s emails were called One Idea. Cause my email list wanted KISS.
